Session Three - The NIH Scientific Study Section Review and Program Counsel Review Processes
Session Three offers faculty and pre- and post-doctoral fellows an understanding of the NIH scientific and program review processes, what transpires during the meetings, the structure of the review processes, the criteria used to judge each application, and what the review looks for when reviewing proposals. How reviewers evaluate the various sections of applications using the current criteria will be discussed. In additon, techniques for developing and revising the content of the proposal will be presented along with other widely applicable tips and approaches to scientific writing. Participants will have an opportunity to reflect on the unique demands of the research proposal and will leave with many suggestions for enahancing the effectiveness of their NIH applications.
