Pre-award requests from a sponsor for certifications, budget documentation, and other administrative or contractual information, should be directed to your Office of Research and Development Contract & Grant Professional who will coordinate the response to the sponsor. Office of Research and Development will review information and documentation provided by the administrator and PI for completeness and for consistency with the sponsor request and with University policies and procedures. Office of Research and Development will provide the authorized institutional signature and will forward the information to the sponsor or, at the administrator's/PI's request, return the document to the administrator/PI for shipment to the sponsor. NIH Grant Application Pre-award Requests The NIH routinely requests information on a Just-In-Time (JIT) basis. JIT information requested includes other support, certification of Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval, certification of Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) approval, and human subjects training certification for all key personnel. JIT information must be submitted for review and evaluation PRIOR to making an award. This information may be submitted via the Just-In-Time function within the eRA Commons.
