J. Jason Galvez, Ph.D. – Intellectual Property Officer
Dr. Galvez joined CVIP in January of 2007.  Prior to joining our group, he worked for the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a biotechnology patent examiner.  Dr. Galvez also worked as a technical advisor for a private practice in Philadelphia, where he was responsible for patent application preparation and assisted prosecuting domestic and foreign patent applications in the biotechnological arts.  Dr. Galvez’s graduate work at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Pharmacology focused on molecular mechanisms of cardiac tissue damage associated with ischemia and reperfusion.  Dr. Galvez is currently pursuing a law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law and is a registered patent agent.
