Elizabeth Hart-Wells, Ph.D. - Senior Director, Commercial Ventures and Intellectual Property Dr. Hart-Wells joined UMB’s CVIP group in November 2003 to manage the intellectual property for the Middle Atlantic Regional Centers of Excellence (MARCE). Libby has since assumed responsibility as Director of TEC-COM for management of all commercialization activities of UMB’s inventions and discoveries. Prior to coming to UMB, Libby was awarded a coveted AAAS Congressional Science Fellow, sponsored by the American Chemical Society, and served as professional legislative staff for then-Congressman Sherrod Brown. Libby also worked at Fulbright & Jaworski on patent prosecution matters in the biotechnology and chemical arts during which time Libby became registered with the United States Patent & Trademark Office. Libby served as an analytical chemist in the private sector for several years, and holds a Ph.D in Bio-Organic Chemistry from Rice University and a B.S. in chemistry from Indiana University. back to staff list |
