The Grants and Contracts Team, as part of the Office of Research and Development, is the administrative avenue through which sponsored projects at the University are supported.
The Office of Research and Development Staff: - Provides oversight of grants and contracts (sponsored projects) for UMB
- Provides advice direction, and trouble-shooting for grants and contracts issues
- Provides authorized signature for sponsored project proposals and awards/agreements
- Reviews proposals for eligibility, policy and compliance
- Reviews and negotiates awards and agreements, such as:
Grant Agreements Service Agreements Salary reimbursement agreements Research agreements Clinical study agreements Confidential disclosure agreements Subrecipient agreements (when UMB is the subrecipient)
- Issues subrecipient agreements (when UMB is the prime awardee)
- Reviews and authorizes requests for post-award changes to a grant or agreement
- Coordinates with Restricted Funds for eUMB chartstring set-up
- Educates campus community about sponsored project policies, regulations and procedures
- Assists with transfers of Principal Investigators
- Authorizes storage or disposal of award files
