| What do I need to send to ORD?
- Complete the MTA Questionnaire (outgoing)
- Include the Recipient contact name, phone/fax numbers, e-mail address
- Provide IRB approval documentation when required (e.g., for transfer of specimens)
What happens after I submit this information? - ORD:
- Notifies the PI that the request was received in ORD
- Reviews the questionnaire for disclosed inventions, licenses, research agreements, etc.
- Contacts the PI if additional information is needed
- If the material falls under an existing license or research agreement, special review by the Technology Commercialization section of ORD may be required
- Prepares the appropriate agreement
- Obtains the appropriate signatures from the PI and for ORD
- Forwards to the Recipient organization for execution
When will the agreement be signed? - If ORD has all the required information, the MTA will be prepared for signature within 10 business days after receipt of the request. The PI will be notified of any delay.
- Negotiations with the Recipient organization may be necessary to resolve agreement issues
- The PI will be notified when the fully signed agreement is received from the Recipient organization
Status Who keeps the original agreement? - The original agreement is retained by ORD
- The PI will receive a copy of the MTA.
When do I ship the materials requested? - The PI and Recipient are responsible for arranging shipment
- The materials may be shipped after the PI is notified that ORD has received the fully signed agreement from the Recipient organization
